in 1997 Lavender House planted a small collection of different species and varieties of lavender. These lavenders are showing their age but still flower intermittently between September & May providing interesting photo opportunities for visitors. We are currently replanting our lavender stock, extending our lavender fields and landscaping.
In spring (September - November) Lavendula stoechas also known as French Lavender, Spanish Lavender or Butterfly Lavender, flowers in vibrant colours including indigo, purple, pink and white.
In summer (late November - mid January) see the full glory of Lavendula angustifolia or English lavender in blues, purples and pinks .This is also the season for our superb angustifolia variety of true perfumery lavender that we grow for our own perfume oil. You could float on the fragrance of this marvellous mauve lavender variety and our factory smells divine too!
In autumn (Mid March - April) you’ll find Lavendula Intermedia & Dentata, showing gentle soft blues and greys.
In winter (April - June) you’ll find Lavendula dentata, with lovely clear blues and soft grey foliage.
